About

Howdy, I’m Patrick Chew, a senior product designer working on Microsoft Teams in Seattle, WA. I’ve designed for companies both big and small, from verynice in LA, to Nike in Oregon, to IBM Design in Austin, to Xbox.

By day, I work on designing and building the future of streaming, Mixer. Acquired by Microsoft in 2016, Mixer is quickly gaining ground in the burgeoning streaming industry. It’s been an exciting to use design and data to help build a brand new business. Before joining Microsoft in 2018, I worked as a designer at IBM and founded the IBM Make Lab, an internal maker space on IBM’s Austin campus.

I’ve been a speaker at SXSW, The O’Reilly Design Conference, AIGA Austin, and The Mattel Refuel Speaker Series. I also hold an award from HOW Design Magazine, a patent, and a mean table tennis forehand.

I appreciate you taking the time to look through my site, which has just a slice of my work. If you’d like to see more, or talk through something in more detail, I’d really love to take you through my process over the phone or in person.
